The Choir normally meets every Wednesday evening in term time at 7.30 pm, at St. Peter's Church, The Drive, Henleaze, Bristol, BS9 4LD

 

 

 

 

 

 

                  Normal Concert Dress is:

 

                  Ladies: Long black skirt or black tailored trousers, black M&S v-neck top and black                                      M&S cardigan (see Faye for details) black footwear.

 

                  Gents: Black trousers, DJ, bow-tie, and white shirt, black footwear.

 

                  Summer concert dress is:

 

                  Ladies: Long black skirt or black tailored trousers and coloured shirt or blouse,                                           summer footwear!

 

                  Gents: Black trousers and open-necked coloured shirt, summer footwear!

CHOIR REHEARSALS RESUME

 

Saturday 14th Jan, evening.

First 175th Anniversary Social event,  

To mark the first non-singing meeting of the BMS.  Elizabeth has offered to host at her house in Long Ashton. Suggestion is a ‘bring and share’ supper and madrigal singing.

 

Wed 29th Feb, evening.  

Second 175th Anniversary Social event.

Choir to meet at a pub in Kingsdown as per the first meeting of the Bristol Madrigal Society in 1837 to mark the 175th anniversary.

 

Wednesday March 28th  

Lent concert

Possibly at Long Ashton.

The choir are trying to get Pearsall’s grave stone moved to Bitton and aim to perform in the church to mark the occasion.

The idea is to hold it in the upper room of a pub - as per the first meetings of the Bristol Madrigal Society in 1837 - suggestions for suitable venues welcome
